We Have Big Goals! Wanna Know Why?

Working in the sales industry, our lives revolve around numbers. There are goals to hit, numbers to meet and metrics to exceed from the prior year. When you decide work in a field based on input and output, your world seems to naturally become checks and balances. However, when your day to day is outlined down to the minute of goals to hit and numbers to crush, it can become impersonal. This is a hazard of the job. Ironically enough, we are not selling post-its or any other inanimate objects that have no emotional or personal ties to the consumer. We are helping people buy and sell homes. Between the 8 of us on our real estate team, we come in contact with dozens of people on a weekly basis that are downsizing because they are now empty-nesters, newlyweds buying their first home, and even new parents unexpectedly having their third child and are in need of more yard space for their growing family. We also deal with couples divorcing and needing to sell the home they have built together; ...

You're Selling Your Home, Not Your Stuff.

The time has come! You have pulled the trigger on selling your home!

What’s next?

Well…you have to make it presentable. Prune and primp the yard and landscaping, deep clean your home, and declutter everything. However, we know, the first thing on you mind is the presentation of the inside of your house. The curtains, the carpet, the decor; it all needs to be done!

Here are a few tips that can help you to make your home as presentable as possible for the photographer and potential buyers.

Staging Your Home

When real estate professionals discuss “staging” homes, many people think that you need to spend a large sum of money in redecorating and new pieces for your home. This is not the case. Staging is just making sure that everything has a place and that place makes sense. Ensuring that everything has a place will also make it easier for you to show your home at a moment’s notice.

Potential buyer sometimes have a difficul ...

What Makes You Happy?

So, apparently sometimes I get deep in thought and wonder the meaning of life. :) My latest thought has to do with happiness. I feel as though this word means different things to different people. It makes me wonder why one single word can have so many different meanings and mean something different to each person I talk to.

The idea stemmed from our team practices. Our way of interviewing a potential team member does not fall into the category of the atypical type interviews where an uninterested second-tiered manager gets assigned the job of interviewing several candidates. All while using a cloned copy of standard interview questions. You know the ones. Tell me about a time when…. What are your strengths?.... What are your weaknesses?....What makes you the best person for this position? These questions are great for a $9.00/hr job at the local fast food joint where the turnover rate is astronomical and they, in all actuality, like it that way. However, for long-lasting ; ...

Who Are You?

So this blog post is a little different than our typical Real Estate related or area related blog topics. However, it may be a topic to help you in your personal and professional life. It is just something that makes you go….hmmmmmmm.
A few weeks ago, I attended a visitation for the father of a friend. Our friend was a professional colleague, as well as a fellow church member. His father had lived a full and long life and had recently passed.
I had been to this funeral home dozens of times to honor friends, family of friends, and work colleagues. I had attended visitations with packed rooms and shoulder to shoulder conversations about the devastating loss of their loved one. We hugged friends and had a class reunion of sorts. We filled in with food and flowers to console our friends. This was not that type of visitation.
This was a different atmosphere. It was an older crowd and not a wall-to-wall packed room. There weren’t people filling in, nor were there several pa; ...

Help Us Help Miss Amazing!

Our Own Miss Amazing Sr. Miss!

As many of you know, the majority of our blogs are based around the topic of real estate or other related fields such as local events and community pages. We spend our time as authors of these subjects because it is what we love and what we believe our clients, family, friends, and other community members will appreciate. However, there are moments when our professional lives cross paths with some truly extraordinary people. We are blessed with the opportunity to help individuals and families through one of the biggest milestones in their lives....buying a home.
In the fall of last year, I got to speak with Tammy Bailey. She happened to be searching for homes in Southern Indiana and signed up on our real estate website. I had no idea that before calling her, we would be getting to help her and her family through this scary and exciting time. We were made aware right away of her family's needs. With several months of searching for that ! ...
