We Have Big Goals! Wanna Know Why?

Working in the sales industry, our lives revolve around numbers. There are goals to hit, numbers to meet and metrics to exceed from the prior year. When you decide work in a field based on input and output, your world seems to naturally become checks and balances. However, when your day to day is outlined down to the minute of goals to hit and numbers to crush, it can become impersonal. This is a hazard of the job. Ironically enough, we are not selling post-its or any other inanimate objects that have no emotional or personal ties to the consumer. We are helping people buy and sell homes. Between the 8 of us on our real estate team, we come in contact with dozens of people on a weekly basis that are downsizing because they are now empty-nesters, newlyweds buying their first home, and even new parents unexpectedly having their third child and are in need of more yard space for their growing family. We also deal with couples divorcing and needing to sell the home they have built together, children selling their elderly parents' home because it is time for them to require assisted living, and even homes after the unexpected death of a family member. We are present for all of these scenarios and we stay present in each of these situations while becoming invested in the lives of these people that have trusted us to take care of them during these exciting, and sometimes intense times of their lives. Our clients become our friends and even our family!
Due to the relationships we cultivate, oftentimes it is difficult to worry about our goals. There are absolutely people that look at every transaction, every sale, as a number on a board or a tick mark in their notebook. There are some that are interested in their name on leaderboards, or their teams recognized wherever they go. 
 We are groomed to set big goals and exceed even our own expectations on a daily basis. The company we have chosen to be in business with has been the gasoline for the fire our team possesses to, not just do our best, to do it the best it can be done. We are taught to push ourselves and live the best life. So I am proud to say...
WE WANT TO SELL THE MOST HOMES!!!!


I know... I know.... I just said that the people that we have the opportunity to help are not just numbers to us, and they're not. They are a gift. 
They are people that we have the opportunity to effect their lives. Real Estate is a service industry. Our goal is to always come from a place on contribution. If we are not contributing to someone's life, we are not doing our job. We are blessed with the opportunity to be present for all of these life events and we do not take it for granted. 
So, I know what you're thinking! If they are in business to help people, why are they wanting to sell the most homes? Why is a number something that is important to them? Why do you walk by their office and see tick marks on their screen illustrating each transaction they close for the year?
I WILL TELL YOU WHY!
Do you know what those tick marks represent? They represent income for 8 people that make up a family that has grown to know and love one another. They represent personal and professional growth far beyond our expectations. They represent opportunities. They represent opportunities to finally afford to take their families on vacations that do not consist of credit cards and debt. A vacation where they can enjoy their time off and not have the looming debt of finances hanging over them. They represent getting out of debt completely. They represent single parents doing it all on their own. They represent opportunities within a company that has values and morales, instead of working in a corporate setting with no opportunity for change or growth. They represent taking care of family members that cannot take care of themselves. These tick marks represent the investment of time in others so that they can invest time in their clients and families. They represent the sheer value of seeing others set goals and hit them for the first time ever! The tick marks represent 401ks, travel, investment properties for our children, being debt-free and, most of all, giving back. These tick marks represent all of the opportunities we have to give back to those in need in our community. 
So, do we want to sell the most homes? Yes, we do! However, keep in mind, these are our "whys".
